ME, MYMONKFISH, AND A PORTION OF OLIVE….

Fabulous news bloggers!  ‘MyMonkfish.com’ has reached the higher echelons of a little known glossy monthly food publication known as BBC OLIVE magazine!  Super exciting news for me and my edible ramblings!  When my June 2011 subscribers issue arrived last Tuesday I put it to one side as I had a previous engagement that evening…… I could wind you up and say I had a dinner booked at The Kitchin but oh no, far more exciting than that…. I was cleaning out Mr Predictable’s ‘DIY store’ (aka our hall cupboard) in anticipation of his new shed arriving at the weekend.  A girl has to get her priorities right and you all know how us girls like to de-clutter and tidy!

Two hours later and all matter of DIY essentials were suitably boxed, filed, and ready to be ejected to the new shed.  Yippee.  Chores done, kettle on, sit down and relax with my shiny new mag.  As usual, quick flick through the contents page then on with the show….flick flick flick, let’s just see who got ‘Reader Blog Of The Month’ this month…. STOP THE CLOCK!!!!

It was little ole me and my monkfish blog! I can’t tell you exactly what happened next.  What I can tell you is that it involved me, the phone, Mrs Monkfish Senior, trying to locate the ‘ever so busy’ Mr Predictable, the phone again, Sister Monkfish, oh, and the phone once more.  Then lots and lots of laughing and a few tears of hysteria too, happy happy.

I have made it into a monthly glossy, whatever next?  Please go and purchase the June 2011 Olive and flick hastily to page 8….you heard it here first 😉

    My congratulations!

Having just made the transition from hillwalking blogging to food blogging I couldn’t help but notice the huge number of food blogs around – so to get a mention in the “glossies” is a job well done.

Have enjoyed rummaging through the blog – great writing style. Keep up the good work.

    Kenny.
