HOTEL CHOCOLAT EASTER EGG GIVEAWAY!

Happy Easter monkfish fans! We’re a little ahead of time but Easter has come early at Monkfish Towers courtesy of Hotel Chocolat. They’d like one of our readers to win a ‘Your Eggsellency‘ Easter Egg (rrp £26) which will be delivered to you courtesy of their Easter bunny before the weekend. How’s that for service? It was tough having to chomp through this egg just to check it was ‘ok’ for one of our readers to win but we seemed to manage….

For me, a lot of easter eggs have one problem…. the shell is too thin….it’s all about the packaging – lots of, and not about the job in hand – chocolate. Rest assured that the job in hand in this case is ALL about the chocolate. The shell is super thick, so much so it’s hard to bite into, but that’s a good thing and don’t worry, you’ll manage, trust me.

One half of this egg is dark chocolate and the other is milk chocolate. Hopefully that means no arguments as everyone gets the bit they want! Needless to say I got through the dark chocolate half quite comfortably while Mr Monkfish set about the liquor truffles. And I have to say, he did quite well. Not shy of the odd tipple this was a double result for him, alcohol AND chocolate, win win.

The truffles inside ‘Your Eggsellency’ are indeed quite excellent. They contain a ‘generous dash’ of a few classics including white port, champagne, amaretto, mojito and vodka, heaven.
