Bored of cupcakes? Yep, kind of. Although the cupcake is still holding its head above water we think there’s definitely room for a new ‘sweet’ trend. How about meringues? Here are two girls – The Meringue Girls – who are re-inventing the meringue, transforming it from its 70′s ‘meringue pie’ status to on-trend hip status. Alex Hoffler and Stacey O’Gorman create thousands of meringue kisses every night, the demand has become so high they can’t bake them quick enough. We’ve got the Marshmallow Lady in Edinburgh, here’s hoping we’ll have a meringue lady or two…or gent or two very soon.

Next up, more beer chat. There’s SO MUCH going on in the world of #craftbeer that to mention just a few is tricky. We’ve managed to select a ‘choice twosome’ though for this week’s Monkfish Monday.
One is very close to home - The Eden Brewery in St Andrews who’ve been brewing since 2012. Craft beer is their thing, progressive brews breaking boundaries, some limited runs never to be repeated. It’s all exciting stuff and having sampled an Ardbeg limited batch just yesterday we are giving them the thumbs up. You can visit the brewery and take a tour. Just click here to visit their website to find out more.
And far far away, well, not that far actually, is the self proclaimed Church of the Atom! A nano brewery hailing from Gotherburg, Sweden. Focussing primarily on experimental and intriguing beer craftmanship and I think it’s fair to say VERY cool labels on their bottles. Some call it beer, they call it the Gospel of the Throat.
Cool labels or what?! Follow Church of the Atom on Twitter @atomkyrkan
