The 2-day festival includes chef demonstrations, food and drinks masterclasses, a producers’ market, a gifts’ market and bars and cafes.
Foodies Christmas features some of Scotland’s top chefs who will cook their festive signature dishes live in the Chefs’ Theatre and explain how amateur cooks can prepare the same dishes at home.
This year’s line-up comprises Michelin-starred chefs…
Jeff Bland from The Balmoral Hotel,

Jeff Bland said: “The festive season is a fantastic time of year to discover new recipes and interesting combinations of food with family and friends. I’m delighted to be taking part in Foodies Christmas this year and showcasing my Roast fillet of Halibut in Christmas Spices – a tasty alternative to the traditional turkey dinner.”
This year’s Christmas Food Theatre is being run by Edinburgh New Town Cookery School. With six hands-on lessons per day visitors will get the chance to perfect Christmas canapés, decorate cakes and take part in family classes.
The Drinks Theatre invites visitors to be amongst the first in the UK to sample new products and expand their knowledge. Over the course of the weekend Hendricks Gin will demonstrate ‘The 12 Drinks of Christmas’,
Treacle Bar will unlock the mystery of the perfect Christmas cocktail including a special Foodies creation, The Whisky Lounge will share samples of amazing whiskies, The Eden Brewery from St Andrews will offer tastings of local beers and wine-expert Charles Metcalfe will run festive wine tastings.
With over 100 exhibitors, the Producers’ Market showcases the best Scottish produce including cheese, meat, cakes and breads, sweets and chocolate, and an array of gifts, as well as containing a wine and champagne village and a whisky demo area. Visitors can relax with a mulled wine and a mince pie whilst listening to traditional carol singers in the bar and cafe areas which will also be selling hot cider and roasted chestnuts.
