SECRET HERB GARDEN FULL MOON DINNERS

Secret Herb Garden full moon suppers

THE SECRET HERB GARDEN FULL MOON DINNERS…

The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat….And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand.
They danced by the light of the moon, the moon, the moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Want to do something completely different? How about dinner in a glasshouse under the light of the full moon in a very secret place, well, maybe not so secret if four thousand ‘likes’ on Facebook are anything to go by….

We feel that this is a very special place and think you will too. The Secret Herb Garden is to the south west of Edinburgh and has been brought to life by Hamish and Liberty Martin and is somewhere people can ‘open the door to the magic of herbs’. The seeds for the Secret Herb Garden were first sown in 2011 when Hamish decided to pursue a radical career change from wine to herbs and in the last 12 months it has become a frequent go-to spot for us for tea and cake and a potter about. We even visited on Christmas Eve in the eye of a snow storm and had coffee in a cosy seat by the stove. We really love it.

During the course of this year when the full moon appears you can enjoy dinner in the glasshouse amongst like minded people who love herbs, love experiential dining and enjoy great food and wine. Hamish who has over 20 years experience in the wine trade will introduce matching wines to your dinner and will be introducing the herb garden’s own wine which we’ve heard will NOT give you a hangover…..result.

We’ll be dining at the Secret Herb Garden on Monday 4th May should you care to join us!

WINETUBEMAP THIRSTY THURSDAY WINE TASTINGS, COMING SOON!

WINE TASTING, wine tastings in Edinburgh

Wine Tasting, Edinburgh

Bored of ‘normal’ wine tasting events? Then we have hopefully come to your rescue! Tickets please!

Thirsty?? Is it Thursday yet? It’s always just a few more sleeps until the weekend and if you’re thirsty by Thursdays…we usually are (!!)..then what better way to start your weekend than at a wine tasting event run by one of our chums, the lovely WineTubeMap.co.uk.

If you’re not familiar with the WineTubeMap then head on over to WineTubeMap.co.uk to see what all the fuss is about. Imagine the London tube map, picture it in your mind, replace all the stations with wines – types of grape, styles of wine, geographical regions – now you’re talking. Take your very own journey along the lines and see where you end up.

So, starting in April at Summerhall, Edinburgh, you can drink your way along the Red Central Line. That’s Beaujolais, Languedoc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rioja, Chianti (yes, we all remember THAT moment in Silence of the Lambs…) and more.

Expect the unexpected, expect more than just a wine tasting, be wowed with smells, tastes and sounds….Fun with a capital F!  Engaging, informal, entertaining, you will find out where you are on the map already ‘#YOUAREHERE’ and whether you want to move to the next station or are happy where you are. We are pretty sure you’ll find a new wine you never thought you would try, we have travelled along the Red Central Line a lot at the Towers and are huge fans of the WineTubeMap full stop in particular the Aromatic Line with Albarino and Viognier being our stand out favourites at the mo.

wine tasting, wine tastings in EdinburghUse the hashtags #youarehere on the night and find out what your fellow travellers are enjoying on their winetubemap journey.

If you can’t make April’s wine tasting, fear not. Join the WineTubeMap the following month for the Fizz Line, find tickets for all events here.

There will be a Thirsty Thursday wine tasting event on the first Thursday of every month so keep in touch with WineTubeMap on social media to find out what’s going on. If you miss a tasting then look out for the #WineGPS service on twitter throughout the month. Anything and everything you wanted to know about wine will be answered by the trusty Miss WineTubeMap herself, Nikki.

All aboard! the easy way to navigate wine wherever you are.
