Plenty, a fab new book by Yotam Ottolenghi has been my book du jour this weekend and ‘Plenty’ is what we’ve been eating. ‘Plenty’ of our five a day I should point out – this particular book is veg-tastic so not for the veg-shy amongst you. A much needed green fix was required after the over indulgence of last weekend…. Mr Predictable purchased me this lovely book for my birthday back in June (he’s good) but as ever I’ve not had a minute to really sit down and read it let alone attempt some of the culinary treats so I made a point to rectify that this weekend.
Saturday, it was time for a change of pace and head west for Glasgow…once more our city has been invaded by festival-goers, time to escape! Priority of visit was to try out Jamie’s Italian which has a beautiful location on George Square in the old GPO building.
Da-da…here it is..so far so good.
Jamie's Italian, Glasgow
Blimey, full speed ahead and here it is! Tasting session later although not sure can last till 9pm…. Marks out of ten me vs jamie?
Ok, up bright and breezy, well ok, 9.15….ahem… Plan on spending next hour with Jamie Oliver and his splendid tiramisu! Will report back later, am expecting a good result!
Talk about Pavlov’s dog…I’m dribbling just looking at these little beauties! A friend of mine was in NYC last week and I asked her to par-take in a few Magnolia Bakery cupcakes and take some photos (all for the sake of baking journalism you understand)…she didn’t fail her mission and here are the results. Unfortunately she ‘forgot’ to bring some back for me…some friend that is bloggers!
Two little things of beauty!
Just in case I was in any doubt she didn’t manage to eat the lot she was kind enough to take these photos too…you go girl!
Marvellous Magnolia, I’m coming to visit you soon
